Stas Alforov is the Director of Research and Development at Gemini Advisory; in this role, he identifies and improves ways of monitoring asset portfolio exposure and effectively assists financial institutions in mitigating payment card fraud. Stas started his cyber career at the National Cyber Forensic Training Alliance (NCFTA) as part of the Cyber Financial program. Ayelet is a senior leader with over 20 years of experience in the technology and information security industry, with a diverse background in Product management, R&D, marketing, and professional services. She holds the role of VP of Market Strategy at BioCatch, focused on helping financial institutions provide seamless and secure digital transactions, by leveraging the power of behavioral biometrics. Prior to joining BioCatch, Ayelet has spent over 10 years at RSA Security in various roles in both the Fraud Intelligence and Enterprise Authentication solution areas. Ayelet also held various roles at IBM, focused on innovation.
Having nearly three decades of experience in fraud prevention, risk and compliance projects for multimillion-dollar brands and start-ups, he knows what truly drives conversions. Julian oversees Berenberg Capital Markets’ risk management program as the Head of Risk Controlling. Berenberg is a multinational full-service investment bank founded in 1590 with a significant presence in New York. Prior to returning to the industry, he consulted large financial institutions around the globe with a focus on Western Europe and North America. His financial and tech skills made him a trusted advisor across treasury, finance, ALM, and risk departments and a frequent speaker at industry events.
Lester Joseph is the Head of the Global Financial Crimes Intelligence Group at Wells Fargo & Company. The primary mission of this Group is to provide intelligence on money laundering activity and financial crime trends to all parts of the enterprise. He joined Wells Fargo in March 2010. Mr. Joseph worked for the United States Department of Justice from 1984 to February 2010. From 2002-2010, he was the Principal Deputy Chief of the Asset Forfeiture and Money Laundering Section (AFMLS). He currently supervises the White Collar Crime squad in Cleveland along with the Midwestern Cryptocurrency Task Force, and serves in multiple collateral duties as a member of the nationwide Financial Crimes Response Team and is certified as a Hostage Negotiator.
Max Lerner is a Managing Director at State Street, a leading global bank focused in custodial, asset management and advisory, transfer agency, and administrative services based in Boston. In his role, Max serves as the Global Head of Sanctions Compliance and Anti-Bribery & Corruption Compliance. Max is accountable for the design, management, and execution of State Street’s global sanctions and anti-bribery and corruption programs, including the screening systems and resulting alert risk analysis and resolution, policy and business unit advisory functions, regulatory engagement and remediation activities, and personnel management of teams based across the globe.
Prior to his tenure at State Street, Max served as Legal Regulatory Counsel at Standard Chartered Bank, a major global bank focused on retail, trade finance, commercial, and correspondent banking, based at its New York office. Max’s practice focused on AML & sanctions advisory, dispute resolution management, and regulatory engagement, investigations, and remediation.
Max also currently serves as Chair of the Association of Global Custodians’ AML & Sanctions Committee.

Victor Lessoff is the Head of Internal Investigations for TIAA, a fortune 100 financial service company providing pension, banking, brokerage, asset management and life insurance services to the non-profit sector. Prior to his present position, Mr. Lessoff was the Director of Technology at Internal Revenue Service, Criminal Investigation (IRS-CI). Mr. Lessoff also held a number of other positions in IRS-CI including Special Agent in Charge and Financial Crime Director. Mr. Lessoff is a CPA, CFE and CAMS. He holds bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Delaware as well as a MBA from the University of Buffalo.

B.J. brings over 35 years of experience in banking, regulatory compliance, and financial crimes investigation. He is a federally designated expert in the BSA and a Certified Global Sanctions Specialist. He served as a Senior Bank Examiner with the OCC specializing in BSA/AML and Sanctions compliance. B.J. served as a Senior Special Agent within the Office of Enforcement at FinCEN and completed a 20-year career with the Secret Service. He served as a Senior Advisor to Senator Alfonse D’Amato, Chairman of the Senate Banking Committee. Among the solutions Narva and his team operationalized were outlier & anomaly detection, behavioral fraud segmentation, control effectiveness measurement and predicting future fraud.
Narva presently leads TIAA’s Internal Audit Data Analytic team to support Internal Audits & Investigations and is leading an initiative to move the division from sample based audits/investigations to risk based full population testing & automation.

I have over 30 years of Compliance experience in the financial services industry. Brandon Reddington is a Vice President in Goldman Sachs’ Government Sanctions Group, where he leads the Sanctions Advisory function. In that role, Brandon provides guidance to the firm’s business lines globally on compliance with economic sanctions laws. Prior to joining Goldman Sachs in 2018, Brandon served as the Global Head of Sanctions Advisory at Credit Suisse. Previously, Brandon was a Senior Sanctions Advisor at the U.S. Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control from 2009-2014, specializing in matters involving the securities industry. Rebecca “Becky” Schauer Robertson is a 25-year veteran of the financial services industry with extensive experience in risk strategy and mitigation. In her role as Director of the Financial Investigations Unit at Atlantic Union Bank, Robertson serves as the Bank’s BSA and OFAC Officers and is responsible for ensuring the Bank’s compliance with all facets of the Bank Secrecy Act, USA PATRIOT Act, Office of Foreign Assets Control and fraud investigations, while monitoring all other related anti-money laundering (AML) and fraud laws and regulations.
Robertson received her bachelor’s degree in business administration from Milligan University.
She holds the advanced designation of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist – Audit, and designations of Certified AML and Fraud Professional as well as Certified Fraud Examiner. As an industry thought leader, she frequently participates as a subject matter expert panelist and speaker on the topic of BSA/AML. DALIT STERN is a Senior Director and Enterprise Fraud Risk Officer in TIAA. She leads the oversight of fraud risks and misconduct and drives enhancements to the fraud risk program. She leads assessments of internal and external fraud; monitoring of metrics; development of policies and standards, root-cause analysis and escalation protocols, risk appetite statements.
Ms. Stern is a CPA (Isr.) and a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE). An MBA graduate of Tel Aviv University who holds a certificate in Cybersecurity: Managing Risk from Harvard University. She is an adjunct professor at New York’s Baruch College and is a frequent speaker and author on fraud risk management and investigations.
